Privacy Policy
Ticketing Playbook runs a mailing list and a website. This page says what we collect, why we have it, who else touches it, and how to make us delete it. It describes what the site actually does, not what a template says it might.
Who is responsible
Ticketing Playbook, contactable at connect@ticketingplaybook.com, decides what happens to the data described here. Write to that address for anything on this page and a person will answer.
The mailing list
When you subscribe we store two things you typed: your name and your email address. Nothing else about you is stored alongside them.
Subscribing is a two-step process. Submitting the form stores your address as unconfirmed and sends you one email with a link. Until you click that link you are not on the list and you will receive nothing further. This exists so that nobody can put your address on our list but you.
We use the address for one thing: sending you a study when it is published. No other mail, no sponsored messages, no sharing the list with partners, contributors or anyone else. Your address is never sold, rented or passed on for anyone else's marketing.
The legal basis is your consent, given by clicking the link in that email. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to connect@ticketingplaybook.com, and we will delete your name and address.
Abuse prevention
To stop automated signups the server keeps a record of recent submission attempts. Your IP address is not stored: what is stored is an irreversible cryptographic hash of it, which lets the server recognise repeat attempts within an hour without holding anything that can be turned back into an address or a location. These records are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the signup form working.
Analytics
We use Umami to count page views and to see which links people use. It sets no cookies, which is why this site has no cookie banner, and it does not follow you to other websites or build a profile of you. It reports totals — how many people read a page, which country they were in, what kind of device they used — and we never see anything that identifies you.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works.
Who else processes your data
We keep the list ourselves rather than handing it to a marketing platform. These are the only third parties involved, and each one only does the job named:
- Hostinger hosts the website and the database that holds the list.
- Postmark, operated by ActiveCampaign in the United States, delivers the confirmation email. It receives your name and address in order to send it.
- Umami Cloud, in the United States, receives the analytics described above.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces this site uses. Because your browser fetches those files directly from Google, Google sees your IP address when a page loads. We receive nothing from this and set no cookies through it.
Postmark, Umami Cloud and Google Fonts are outside the European Economic Area, so using this site involves transferring data to the United States under the relevant standard safeguards.
How long we keep things
- Your name and address: until you ask us to delete them, or until the mailing list stops existing.
- An unconfirmed signup: the confirmation link stops working after seven days. If you never confirm, write to us and we will remove the record.
- Abuse-prevention records: deleted automatically after 24 hours.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict what we do with it, or to object to it. You can withdraw consent for the mailing list at any time. One email to connect@ticketingplaybook.com is enough — there is no form and no account to log into.
If you are in the EU or UK and think we have handled your data badly, you can also complain to your national data protection authority.
What we do not do
- We set no cookies of any kind.
- We store no IP address, browser string or referrer against you.
- Your email address never appears in a web address, in analytics, or in your browser's storage.
- We run no advertising and no third-party marketing or tracking scripts.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects what we do with the data of people already on the list, we will say so in an email rather than quietly editing this page.
