Design Decisions
Without Doubt

Evidence-backed blueprints for ticketing UX. Peer-reviewed by industry leaders. Built by designers, for decision makers.

Neutrality Over Opinion Contribution Over Consumption Transparency in Decision-Making

Three laws govern how the lab runs. Every study commits to its method before data collection starts, so a finding that contradicts a partner’s roadmap is published unchanged. Contributors earn early access; readers get everything later, free. Before a study goes out, a named board member argues against it, and that dissent goes out with it.

About the lab

I.Motivation

A designer proposes fewer steps, clearer pricing, a larger tap target. Leadership hears an opinion. The argument gets settled by whoever booked something most recently, and the checkout keeps losing bookings to friction nobody ever measured.

II.Mission

The mission is to turn ticketing behaviour into blueprints a team can cite: a stated sample, a stated method, and a number attached to the finding. That is what lets a design decision get defended on evidence instead of instinct.

III.Methodology

Each study fixes its protocol before data collection, then runs problem definition, evidence, analysis, prototype testing and a financial estimate. Sample, duration, limits and what we still don’t know are published at the same time as the conclusion.

How a study is built

Partners

Partners are senior design and product leaders at ticketing and tourism companies. Funding is non-profit: it pays contributors and covers what the year’s studies cost, nothing more. Partners vote on what gets researched next and read every finding before it is public.

Ventrata is a ticketing platform for attractions, tours and museums — online booking, box office and reseller sales on one system. Founding partner, and where the first three chapters were framed.

Partners benefits

The benefit is time. A study shortens the argument inside your company, and the head start means you can act on a finding before everyone else sees it.

Contact us

  • Decision legitimacy

Cite a study instead of defending a preference. A published blueprint moves the argument off taste and shortens the approval cycle.

  • Governance participation

Vote on which study runs next, so the research answers questions already on your roadmap rather than someone else’s.

  • The protocol, before the study runs

Partners get each study’s method while it is still being designed — early enough to run the same test on your own product and set your numbers against the published result. What you never get is another partner’s data. The lab publishes patterns, not records, and nothing from one company’s customers ever crosses to another.

  • Hiring access

Work alongside the analysts, researchers and designers staffed on each study, and hire the ones who fit.

  • Brand association

Listed as a Research Partner on every study you reviewed, and cited wherever that study is quoted.
